  3. This version fixes the bug in VD which allowed duplicate phone
  4. numbers.  If you do not use the UserDir feature, you do not need
  5. to do this at all.
  6.  
  7. If you do use the UserDir feature to disallow duplicate phone numbers
  8. you must do the following:
  9.  
  10. 1> Make a copy of your UserDir file and put it in a safe place
  11.    in case anything goes wrong.  Do the same with the VD.EXE and
  12.    VDP.EXE files that you are currently using.
  13.

  15. 2> Run the prg CVT_PH.EXE in the directory which contains your VD.CFG
  16.    file.  This program will remove all non-numeric chars in your user's
  17.    phone numbers (in the UserDir file only).  It does not mess with any
  18.    other files.

  20. 3> Replace your VD.EXE and VDP.EXE files with the new one's in this
  21.    archive.  Save the old ones in case you have problems.
  22.  
  23. 4> Modify your VD.CFG to take advantage of the new features detailed
  24.    in RELEASE.DOC.  See the included VD.CFG for examples.
